Giraffe: Giraffes are the tallest land animal in the world. They have many interesting features like long necks, tongues and legs. Every brown spotted pattern that they have is different. This helps with camouflage in the wild. They can run up to 48 kph (30 mph). They also have incredible vision that helps them with protecting themselves. Baby giraffes are born about 2 m tall and can grow up to twice their height in a year, which is about an inch a day. A giraffe's height makes it difficult them to lie down and stand up, so they often sleep standing up. Their height helps them get to the tops of trees to get leaves for food. Most of the time giraffes walk slowly unless they are disturbed. When giraffes drink from like a stream or river, they spread out their legs which puts them into an awkward position. Giraffes have many unique skills and characteristics that make them amazing animals, such as all of these. Also, giraffes are highly endangered and many people are trying to make the population increase. http://www.terradaily.com/reports/African_giraffes_highly_endangered_study_999.html
